Hertz Front and Saddlebag Audio for 1998-2013 Harley-Davidson
The HSP3-13 covers both ends of a 1998-2013 bagger in one box. The SX 165 NEO coaxials go in the front fairing and the SX 690 NEO.1 6×9 speakers go in the saddlebag lids through the included HD13H lid kit.
All four speakers are 4Ω and the SP 4.900 is rated for a 2Ω minimum load per channel in four-channel mode. The HTHP13 T-Power harness and HD13AP bracket are the install parts American Hard Bag supplies for this generation of bike.
SP 4.900 Amplifier: Four channels of D-class power in an IP55 aluminum chassis with no cooling fan and sealed connections. Hertz rates it at 160W RMS × 4 at 4Ω.
Fairing Pair: Two SX 165 NEO two-way coaxials, 4Ω, rated 100W continuous each, with 96.5dB sensitivity.
Saddlebag Pair: Two SX 690 NEO.1 6×9 three-way coaxials, 4Ω, rated 130W continuous each, with 94dB sensitivity.
Factory Radio Signal: The SP 4.900 takes pre-amp or speaker-level input and includes USS for head units that check for a speaker load.

Recommended System Planning
The HTHP13 T-Power harness and HD13H lid harness are part of the kit, and the amplifier mounts on the HD13AP bracket. Both Street Glide and Road Glide front grilles are in the box, so the kit is not limited to one fairing style.
We install Hertz kits at our Taylors, SC shop. If you are doing it yourself, call us before you start so we can walk through the parts for your exact bike.
Gain setting matters: At 4Ω the SP 4.900 is rated for 160W RMS per channel, which is more than the continuous rating of every speaker in this kit. Set the gains so each channel stays inside the speaker's continuous rating.
Saddlebag lids: Confirm your saddlebag lid style and any lid modification needed for the HD13H kit before you start.
What to Pair With the HSP3-13
Everything to run the kit is in the box. These are the same parts sold on their own, plus power support.
Hertz SP 4.900 Amplifier
The IP55 four-channel amplifier used in every Hertz sound pack, sold on its own.
Hertz SX 165 NEO 6.5-inch Coaxials
The fairing coaxial pair from this kit, sold separately as a replacement or spare pair.
Hertz SX 690 NEO.1 6x9 Speakers
The 6x9 three-way pair from this kit, sold separately.
Motorcycle Audio Batteries
Battery upgrades for builds that run the amplifier hard. Ask us whether your charging system needs one.

Best Use for the HSP3-13
1998-2013 Street Glide and Road Glide owners who want front and saddlebag speakers powered by one IP55 amplifier while keeping the factory radio.
Built Around Real Motorcycle Audio
Wind, road speed and weather all work against bagger audio. Neodymium SPL speakers with weather-treated cones and a sealed IP55 amplifier are what this kit is built on.
Hertz HSP3-13 FAQ
What comes in the HSP3-13 kit?
An SP 4.900 amplifier, HD13AP amplifier mounting bracket, SX 165 NEO coaxial speakers, SX 690 NEO.1 6x9 3-way speakers, the HTHP13 T-Power harness, the HD13H saddlebag lid kit with speaker harness, and both Street Glide and Road Glide speaker grilles.
Which years does it fit?
Hertz lists the HSP3-13 for 1998-2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Confirm your exact bike with us before ordering.
Does it fit Street Glide and Road Glide?
The kit includes both Street Glide and Road Glide front speaker grilles. The HD13AP amplifier bracket is listed for Road Glide, so call us to confirm amplifier mounting on a Street Glide.
What impedance are the speakers?
All four speakers are 4 ohms.
How much power does the SP 4.900 make?
Hertz rates the SP 4.900 at 160W RMS × 4 at 4Ω, 250W RMS × 4 at 2Ω and 500W RMS × 2 bridged at 4Ω, 1000W RMS total at 14.4V.
Will the amplifier work with a factory head unit?
The SP 4.900 accepts pre-amp or speaker-level input and includes USS (Universal Speakers Simulator) for head units with speaker load detection.
Can the amplifier overpower the speakers?
Yes, if the gains are set too high. The SP 4.900 is rated 160W RMS per channel at 4 ohms, while the SX 165 NEO is rated 100W continuous and the SX 690 NEO.1 130W continuous. Set the gains to protect the speakers.
Are the speakers weather resistant?
Hertz SPL Show NEO speakers use water-repellent pressed-paper cones with water, humidity and anti-UV treatment, and the SP 4.900 uses an IP55-rated aluminum chassis.
