Cicada FLX500.4 Amplifier Overview
The FLX500.4 is designed for motorcycle audio systems that need serious four-channel power without the mounting footprint of a conventional full-size amplifier.
Its compact aluminum chassis can be incorporated into fairings, saddlebags, amplifier racks, kick panels and other constrained mounting locations. The high-efficiency Class-D platform helps reduce heat and electrical demand while maintaining the output needed for amplified motorcycle speakers.
The amplifier can power four individual speaker channels or operate in two-channel bridged mode for compatible 4-ohm speaker loads. Its wide input-voltage range and three turn-on methods also support factory-radio, aftermarket-radio and DSP-based systems.
Amplifier Power Ratings
95W × 4 at 4 Ohms
Ideal for four-channel systems using 4-ohm coaxial, pro-coaxial, component or mid-bass speakers.
125W × 4 at 2 Ohms
Provides increased output for four-channel systems using compatible 2-ohm speakers and properly planned channel loads.
250W × 2 Bridged at 4 Ohms
The amplifier can be bridged into two channels for compatible 4-ohm loads requiring higher power per speaker.
Available Garage Bagger Stereo Configurations
Amplifier Only
Includes the Cicada Audio FLX500.4 amplifier for custom installations where the correct wiring, signal integration and mounting components are already available.
2014–2023 Stock Harley Radio
Select this configuration when the amplifier will be integrated with a compatible 2014–2023 Harley-Davidson factory radio. Included parts are determined by the selected product option.
2023.5+ A2B – No DSP
Select this option for a compatible 2023.5+ CVO or 2024+ Harley system using the required A2B signal integration without an added digital signal processor.
2023.5+ A2B – With DSP
Select this option for a compatible 2023.5+ CVO or 2024+ Harley system using A2B integration and a DSP-based signal-processing configuration.
Why Riders Choose the FLX500.4
Compact Installation
The micro-sized chassis supports installation in fairings, saddlebags and custom amplifier racks where space is limited.
Four-Channel Flexibility
Power four individual speakers or bridge the amplifier into two higher-powered 4-ohm channels.
2-Ohm Stereo Stable
Produces 125 watts per channel when operating four compatible 2-ohm speaker loads.
OEM-Friendly Turn-On
REM, DC and VOX turn-on modes provide multiple integration methods for factory and aftermarket audio sources.
Wide Input Range
The 0.2V–12V gain range accommodates aftermarket preamp signals, DSP outputs and compatible factory-radio integration signals.
Advanced Crossover Control
Selectable crossover modes, a wide frequency range and multiple slopes support precise speaker-system setup.
Flexible Crossover and Signal Control
The FLX500.4 provides unusually broad crossover adjustment for a compact motorcycle amplifier. The controls allow the amplifier to be adapted to coaxial speakers, component systems, mid-bass drivers and other properly matched speaker configurations.
- LPF mode limits higher frequencies when powering compatible low-frequency or mid-bass applications
- FULL mode allows the amplifier to operate without an active high-pass or low-pass filter
- HPF mode limits lower frequencies to help protect motorcycle speakers from excessive low-frequency energy
- 20Hz–20kHz adjustment range supports a wide range of speaker and system configurations
- Selectable 6, 12, 24 or 48dB slopes provide additional control over how sharply frequencies are filtered
Factory and Aftermarket Radio Integration
REM Turn-On
Uses a conventional remote turn-on lead from a compatible radio, processor or integration module.
DC Turn-On
Detects compatible DC offset from a factory-radio speaker-level signal when a dedicated remote lead is unavailable.
VOX Turn-On
Provides signal-sensing activation for compatible installations where audio signal detection is required.
The correct turn-on mode depends on the radio, integration module, signal type and installation configuration. Use only one properly configured turn-on method.
Cicada FLX500.4 Specifications
Electrical and Installation Requirements
- Use properly sized OFC power and ground wiring.
- Install the recommended fuse near the battery power source.
- Keep power and ground connections short, clean and secure.
- Do not rely on painted or weak chassis-ground locations.
- Confirm the motorcycle battery and charging system are in good condition.
- Account for the current demand of every amplifier in the system.
- Mount the amplifier where ventilation is available.
- Protect the amplifier from direct water intrusion.
- Secure all wiring against heat, vibration and sharp edges.
- Professional installation and system tuning are recommended.
Speaker and Channel Planning
- Use 4-ohm speakers for the published 95W × 4 stereo configuration.
- Use compatible 2-ohm speakers for the published 125W × 4 configuration.
