Install Notes (from our bench)

• Pre-drill a 5/8" (16 mm) wire pass-through in the tube; align with the lower bracket for a clean run.
• LED wiring: Black = +12V; Red/Green/Blue = grounds. Use a 2-amp fuse within 7" of battery if hard-wiring.
• Always set a high-pass filter at ~80 Hz (12 dB/oct) to keep the pods clean at volume and preserve amp headroom.

Marine / Boat Audio FAQ

Will these hold up in salt water?

Yes. The ASA enclosures are UV-treated and splash-resistant, and all external hardware is stainless. Rinse with fresh water after salty days and you’re golden.

How much power do I really need?

They get loud on quality power. We recommend a clean marine amp that can deliver somewhere in the 150–250 W RMS per pair range into 4-ohms. More power is fine if it’s clean and you use the 80 Hz high-pass.

Do they swivel so I can aim toward riders?

Yes. The quick-adjust swivel lever makes it simple to aim left/right after tightening, so you can focus output at the swim platform or wake.

What tube sizes do they fit?

The stainless mounting system fits most tower tube diameters. If you’re not sure on your tube size, tell us your boat and tower brand and we’ll confirm fit before we ship.

How do the LEDs hook up? Can I control colors?

Out of the box you can wire fixed colors (Black = +12V, RGB wires = grounds). For multi-color control and effects, add the Kicker KMLC lighting controller.

What about pairing with subs and cabin speakers?

We can match the KMTCXL8 with KICKER marine coaxials and a sealed or free-air marine sub stage so the tower pods play clean mid/high while the sub handles low-end.
