American Hard Bag Velocity Drop-In 10" Subwoofer Kit for 2024-Present Harley Touring: What It Is and What You Need

10/30/26

The American Hard Bag Velocity drop-in 10" subwoofer kit is shipping now for 2024-Present Harley-Davidson Touring bikes. It puts a 10" sub with passive radiators inside each factory saddlebag, and each enclosure comes back out when you need the bag for gear. Here's what it is, what it fits, what you still need to run it, and how we install it at the shop in Taylors, SC.

Why the new bags needed a different bass answer

Harley redesigned the Touring saddlebags for 2024-Present (CVO) and the 2024-Present Road Glide and Street Glide. Lids, lid speakers and bag layouts from 2014–2023 don't carry over, so most older subwoofer solutions don't either. Until now, real bass in the new bags usually meant building a permanent box into the bag and giving up the storage for good.

The American Hard Bag kit takes a different route: a dedicated enclosure drops into each bag. The bag stays a bag. The sub box is a separate piece that sits inside it.

What's in the kit

  • Left and right drop-in saddlebag subwoofer enclosures
  • Two 10" Velocity subwoofers
  • Integrated passive radiators
  • Plug-and-play amplifier-to-saddlebag wiring harness
  • Saddlebag vent assemblies, a vent cutting template and vent installation hardware
  • Mounting hardware and the components needed to install the enclosures

Not included: saddlebags (it installs in your factory bags), an amplifier, amplifier power wiring, a DSP or any battery upgrade.

Velocity subwoofer specs

Power handling 300 watts RMS / 600 watts max
Frequency response 20–400 Hz
Voice coil 38 mm TIL
Magnet 56 oz ferrite
Cone / surround Injection-molded cone, Santoprene surround
Fitment 2024-Present Harley-Davidson Touring with the redesigned saddlebags

That's 300 watts RMS per sub. Size your amp channels to RMS, not the max number. Max is a peak rating, not what the sub should see all day at highway volume.

Drop it in, pull it out

This is the part riders care about. Run both enclosures for full bass on the daily ride. Pull one when you need a bag open for a jacket or groceries. Pull both when you're loading up for a road trip. Nothing is glued or glassed into the bag, so the bike goes back to stock storage whenever you want it to.

The vents are the one permanent change: the kit includes a cutting template and vent assemblies so the enclosures can breathe through the bag. That's the step we recommend leaving to an installer. Cut it once and cut it right.

What you need to run it

An amplifier with channels to spare

This is an enclosure kit, not a powered system. Each sub needs its own amp power. On a lot of 2024-Present builds that means a 4-channel amp running the fairing and lid speakers plus a second amp for the subs, or a 6-channel setup. The right answer depends on what's already on the bike. Start with our motorcycle amplifiers, and see amp installation parts for wiring.

A plan for the factory amp and A2B

The new bikes run the factory audio over A2B, so how you add amplifiers matters. If you haven't sorted that out yet, read Keep the Stock Amp or Remove It? and Do You Need an A2B Module? before you buy an amp.

Charging and power you can back up

Adding two subs and more amp power means more current draw. Plan the power wiring and battery side with the rest of the system so you aren't pulling the bike's voltage down at highway volume.

Tuning

Subs in the bags and speakers up front need a crossover and time alignment to sound like one system instead of two. A DSP handles that. Every system we install gets tuned before it leaves.

Who this kit is for

  • 2024-Present CVO, Road Glide and Street Glide owners who want real low end, not just louder mids.
  • Riders who still use their bags and don't want a permanent box.
  • Anyone building a full system: fairing speakers, 2024-Present plug-and-play kits, lids and subs.

Not for: 2014–2023 bikes with the older bags. For those, look at our 10" motorcycle subwoofers and lid options.

Installed in Taylors, SC

We install this kit at the shop as part of a complete 2024-Present build: vent cutting, amp matching, wiring, power and DSP tuning. Riders come in from across the Southeast. See motorcycle audio installation in Taylors, SC or start a build consultation. If you're installing it yourself, our 2024-Present saddlebag audio install tutorial covers getting into the new bags.
